Mahan, Bea - preface
Prints, papers and collages inspire me not only because of the graphic outcomings but also because of the long process that involves creating a matrix, handpull a print or manipulate paper.
I feel myself fascinated by the sudden effects that I found through the process. There are many accidents generated that I can incorporate to the pieces of art. The mistery of not knowing exactly the result I am going to obtain makes me feel completely trapped by the process, since it seems to me that materials are alive.
The result of this dialogue with materials leads me to emphasize shapes, colors and textures directed to enhance the ability to communicate as elements themselves, rather than a specific meaning.
